PARTNERSHIPS
Mukono Town Council has embarked on twinning relationships with foreign cities.
To date, we have entered a twinning relationship with Vimmerby city in Sweden with a view of sharing experiences and best practices in a bid to contribute to the general development of Mukono Town Council.
Through a twinning relationship with Gran municipality of Norway, the Mukono Women kills Development Scheme was born.
The multi-million facility trains female school drop-outs in vocational skills like computer and tailoring.
Mukono Town Council: Projects
In it's endeavors to provide the best for the people of Mukono Town, the council has embarked on a number of projects. Some of the projects include:

Women Skills Development Project
The Project started on the 11th of August 2004 with both Women students and school dropouts totaling to 63 in number and 5 instructors.
The project was started by Mukono Town Council in collaboration with Gran Municipality of Norway our sister Town.
The main objectives of this project were:
• To rectify the imbalances faced by the girl child in the community owing to early school drop out.
• To help the beneficiaries who have skills that will enable them to tap the various opportunities in society to improve their living standards and ability to participate as women in the Council decision making process
The group has realized tremendous developments as well as expansion both in the intake of students as well as in services.
For the past 3 years the in-take has been;
1st Year - 63
2nd Year - 214
3rd Year - 360
With aid from other council partners and friends, the project has acquired 35 computers, an Internet Dish and Hair dressing Equipments.
In addition to this project, as a way to cater for the male youths, the Town Council, decided to open up an extension center that was aimed at equipping the male youths with skills in;
Welding, Brick laying, Mechanics and carpentry and joinery hence the birth of Mukono Vocational Center which was stated in December 2005 with 48 students and Two Instructors
Kyungu Health Center
Mukono Town Council constructed a Health Center II at Kyungu, which is one of the remotest areas in the Town Council. The project was necessitated by the fact that people in that area had no Health facilities at all and were walking distances of over 8 kilometers to access health services.
Ntawo Public School
Under the Development Plan and Budget for the Financial Year 2005/2006 the Council of Mukono approved construction of a Public School in Ntawo Ward.
Construction was started with a two-classroom block i.e. Primary One and Two and will subsequently upgrade to Primary Seven within three years time.
As proposed it will be run under the Universal Primary Education (UPE) Programme.
Presently, construction of another classroom block and an office block at the school is in progress
